Environmental Enhancement Program

The Environmental Enhancement Project has two parts: School Bus Replacements and Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) incentives.

School Bus Replacement

The school bus program is replacing the oldest buses in Fresno County. New clean fuel vehicles will take their place. Buses are replaced strictly on age to remove the most pollutants possible. All public and private school districts are eligible. A list of all school buses in the county shows their ages. This helps find buses that can be replaced when funds are available. After replacing the buses, Measure C staff ensures the old buses are either destroyed or removed from the state.

Transit-Oriented Development

TOD is a competitive program requiring projects to meet certain criteria to receive funding. The eligibility criteria were set to choose the best projects. These projects will improve transit access and increase ridership. Like the Regional Program, staff checks invoices from TOD grant recipients. This ensures funds are spent correctly and project goals are achieved.

This program gets 3.5% of Measure C’s funds.
