The Fresno County Transportation Authority (FCTA) and the City of Clovis have completed the Willow Avenue Project. It was funded by Measure C and cost $5.7 million. The Willow Avenue Project widened the northbound lanes from Shepherd to Copper Avenues.
The project also added these improvements:
- median
- curb
- gutter
- irrigation
- landscaping
- a traffic signal at Perrin Road
These aim to improve traffic flow and safety for residents, businesses, and schools, like Clovis Community College. Approximately 22,000 vehicles use this segment daily.
Since this project was finished during COVID-19, there was no celebration afterward. The construction contractor’s team donated the celebration funds to the Marjaree Mason Center.
