Veterans Boulevard Corridor

The Veterans Boulevard Interchange and Corridor Improvement Project built a roadway in northwest Fresno. The new roadway is 2.5 miles long and has six lanes. It connects Herndon to Grantland, including a freeway interchange at SR-99 between Herndon and Shaw Avenues.

It also includes grade separations over Union Pacific Railroad, High-Speed Rail line, and Golden State Boulevard. These separate railroad traffic from other types of traffic.

The project added a walking trail, traffic signal synchronization, and nearby roadway improvements.

This project aims to:

  • Improve access to SR 99
  • Alleviate congestion in Northwest Fresno
  • Connect Northwest Fresno to communities west of SR 99
